    Driving directions from Orlando International Airport: From the north end of the airport, take SR 528 W/Bee Line Expwy (toll) to I-4 W. From I-4, take Exit #68, and turn right onto SR 535/S Apopka Vineland Rd. Turn left at the second set of lights and hotel is on the left.

    Getting there: The best ways to reach the hotel are by shuttle or car. Return fares for Mears Transportation shuttle vans are $26–$35 for adults and $16–$25 return for children 4 years and older. No charge for children 3 and under. Taxis run on meter and are more than $36. Rental cars are available via this Web site. Rentals, Town Cars, and limousines are all more than $36. Fees are subject to change without notice. All transportation options are found on Level One.

    Getting around: Guests can walk to a number of shops and restaurants in the immediate area of the hotel. The hotel also provides complimentary shuttle services to Walt Disney World, Universal Studios, and SeaWorld. To explore the many attractions farther afield with more flexibility and convenience, driving is best. Well-marked highways make navigation simple.     Black Swan - This gourmet restaurant is bordered on two sides by a panoramic, golf-course view. Open for dinner only, the 74-seat restaurant is decorated in soft pastels with light wood and high ceilings, and features live piano music. Culinary creations include Thai prawns and oak plank–roasted salmon. The list of wine and cordials is extensive.

    The Club . . . A Restaurant and Sports Bar - This casual dining room serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner and overlooks the fairways of the North and South golf courses. Breakfast features assorted seasonal fruits and berries, freshly baked pastries and breads, cereals, and traditional eggs and omelettes. Lunch features fresh salads and specialty sandwiches. For dinner, seafood, sautéed breast of chicken, and pan-seared New York strip steak are on the menu. Wine, beers, and cocktails are available.

    La Coquina - This glass-clad dining room boasts superb views of Lake Windsong and is open only for Sunday champagne brunch. The French-inspired menu changes weekly, offering a lavish spread of fresh fruits, meats, and seafood. Guests can watch chefs prepare meals in the open kitchen.

    Hemingway’s - Open for dinner only, this spot is a favorite of locals. Perched atop a rock grotto overlooking the palm-fringed, lagoon-like pool, the casual-yet-sophisticated dining room features fresh seafood and steaks in a Key West setting. Specialty drinks and beer-battered coconut shrimp are among the highlights.

    White Horse - Features big-screen TVs showing sports and a menu that includes prime rib, free-range chicken, and lamb chops. Open for cocktails and dinner.

    Palm Cafe and General Store - Open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner on the hotel’s lower level, this casual eatery offers indoor and outdoor seating and a menu that includes light fare such as sandwiches, pizza, and salads. The General Store has snacks, beverages, and frozen yogurt.

    Cascade - A showy, brass, spiral staircase and a 35-foot bronze mermaid sculpture are the focal points of this casual, two-story, atrium-style restaurant featuring Continental cuisine. Comfortable rattan tables and chairs overlook the lagoon and Lake Windsong. Open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, Cascade features a full bar and extensive wine list as well as an extravagant Sunday breakfast buffet.

    What to expect: This hotel, with its strongly tropical ambience, is part of the lushly landscaped and self-contained Grand Cypress Resort that covers 1,500 acres. The 18-story, pyramid-shaped Hyatt Regency has three guestroom wings and a 200-foot atrium lobby. The hotel opened in 1984, and the rooms were completely renovated in 1996. Free shuttles are available to the nearby theme parks.

    Amenity highlights: Recreational choices include an 800,000-gallon pool; 45 holes of Jack Nicklaus–designed championship golf; and equestrian, tennis, and fitness centers. The private lake offers sandy beaches, canoeing, and sailing. Supervised activities are offered for children and families, and, on Saturday nights (weather permitting), kids are invited to a beach fire to roast marshmallows and make s’mores. The resort offers five restaurants and four lounges.
